JESUS, THE ONE WHO LOVED US FIRST
BIG IDEA:
Jesus is the One who first loved us, and His love never grows cold.
In Revelation 2:1-7, Jesus calls out the Ephesian church for abandoning their first love—their deep, passionate devotion to Jesus. But before they loved Him, He loved them first.
WHAT DO WE LEARN ABOUT JESUS?
- JESUS PURSUES US FIRST. Before we ever thought about loving Him, He loved us (1 John 4:19).
- JESUS WANTS MORE THAN DUTY – HE WANTS DEVOTION. He isn’t after empty religious actions but a real, thriving relationship (Hosea 6:6).
- JESUS RESTORES COLD HEARTS. He doesn’t just point out our coldness; He invites us back into a warm, close relationship with Him (Luke 15:20).
