LIVING AS AN OUTCAST…LIKE JESUS
In both Smyrna and Pergamum, the Christians faced rejection and persecution. Following Jesus sometimes feels like standing on the outside of what’s popular, normal, or expected. But here’s the good news: Jesus knows exactly what it’s like to be rejected, misunderstood, and cast aside.
JESUS, THE ULTIMATE OUTCAST:
ISAIAH 53:3:
He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering and familiar with pain.
JOHN 15:18:
Jesus said, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.”
Jesus was mocked, betrayed, and crucified—yet He overcame. He walks with us when we feel like we don’t belong.
